In 1919, in Florence, the history of the Negroni cocktail began when Count Camillo Negroni asked his friend, the bartender Fosco Scarselli, to prepare an Americano for him, but to replace the mineral water with gin. We don’t know how our Zamfira came to know about this recipe: through a dream or pure inspiration. It is certain that she was inspired, creating her own Negroni recipe, which has Zamfira’s personal twist.
- 30 ml Moonlight Gin
- 1 dash of bitters
- 30 ml red vermouth
- 10 ml Feteasca Neagra red wine
In a shaker with ice, add Moonlight Gin, bitters, red vermouth and Feteasca Neagra red wine.
Stir vigorously until well mixed.
It is then strained into a pre-chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with an orange slice and a sour cherry.
