This famous cocktail was officially invented in 1984 by London bartender Richard Bradsell. The recipe is based on an old cocktail with no name, which contained Dutch gin, raspberry syrup, lemon juice and sugar. Bradsell reinvented this cocktail, replacing the raspberry syrup with blackberry syrup. Not long after, the recipe became famous all over Great Britain and then all over the world.
